Annual Student Dues
At the beginning of each year, the West Parent Group collects annuals dues for each student. These funds serve to enhance our children’s educational experiences. The annual dues fund a variety of important activities and programs that directly benefit your child’s experience. These activities are NOT funded by the School District. Dues are allocated across the following categories:
Classroom and Educational: Funds teacher stipends, classroom supplies, Art-in-Action supplies, classroom specific activities, emergency supplies and support for Student Council
Staff Recognition: Staff appreciation activities and events, including staff holiday luncheon, end-of-year staff appreciation lunch, teacher gifts, etc.
Events: Community-building events, such as Welcome Back Carnival Hoedown, Movie Night, Bingo Night, STEAM Fair, Variety Show, etc.
Allocations & Programs: for school and classroom support such as facilities improvements, and special programs like Art in Action
Publications: Yearbook production. (Dues pay for your child's yearbook)
Associated Parents' Group: District-wide events, such as Citizen of the Year and Community Care Award Reception, Parents Education Night, IDEA and RISE committees
Administrative fees: Subscriptions used by students and parents community (ex: Konstella, webpage hosting)
Note: Many of the wonderful offerings and programs at West School and in the Hillsborough City School District could not be made possible without addition funding from our educational partner, the Hillsborough Schools Foundations (HSF.org). Donations to HSF augment state funding plus annual student dues. The additional offerings that make HCSD schools so special include but are not limited to: Reduced class sizes, educational specialists, counseling services, SMART technology, Chromebooks for every student, etc. Please consider donating to HSF today!
