West School uses Konstella, a communication tool for parents and teachers.   In addition to a very helpful calendar,  Konstella is also used for sign ups and tracking volunteer hours.  It is also a convenient tool to access the school directory or message other parents.  

We ask all parents to join Konstella (for free) so as not to miss out on any important information.

If you did not receive an email, you can do one of two things:  go to www.konstella.com and request to join West School; OR, you can email westschoolcommunications@gmail.com and request an email invite be sent to them to join.  

There is also a mobile application you can download on iTunes.

                    Below are some useful tips to navigate Konstella.   

                    When you get your class assignments - you can add your children to their assigned rooms.

Join a Room

Place your child in his/her classroom so that you are kept in the classroom communication loop.

Web:  Click your name at the top left corner.  Click "My Children" to add/modify your children.

Mobile App:  Click the "Me" tab at the bottom.  Click "My Children".

Join a Committee

Web:  Click the "Join a Committee" link at the left menu to browse the committees. Click into a committee and sign up or remove yourself.

Mobile App:  *Supported on iOS, not on Android* Click the "School" tab at the bottom.  Click "More" > Committees to browse and sign up for the committees.

Send a Message to a Group

Web:  The left menu shows all of the groups you are in.  Click on the group, type in the text area to post a message.

Mobile App: The "Message" tab at the bottom shows all of the groups you are in. Click any group and type at the bottom.

Send a Message to an Individual/s

Web:  Click the "+" sign right next to the "Messages" label on the left menu.

Mobile App:  Click the "+" at the top right corner.  Choose "Send a Private Message" and select the user/s.

Summary of the Mobile App Navigation

Message Tab:  Shows you the groups you are in and the messages in the groups.

School Tab:  Shows the announcements, events, and sign-ups in your school and classrooms.

Directory Tab:  Allows you to look up parents.

Me Tab:  Is for account settings.

For Organizers

Admin Manage School / Room Lead Manage Room

Web:  Click the Manage button on the left menu.

Create an Announcement/Event/Sign-Up Sheet

Web: Click your school on the left menu.  Select the orange “CREATE” on the right menu.

Mobile App: *Supported on iOS, not on Android* Click the "+" at the top right corner.  Choose "Send a Private Message" and select the user/s.

Web:  Click your school on the left menu.  Select “Your Creations” on the right menu.
